Andrea Antonon, a Brazilian artist, was born in 1959 in Rio de Janeiro - RJ. In 1980, she obtained her degree in Fine Arts from Mackenzie University in São Paulo.From 1976 to 1978, she attended the studio of Dudi Maia Rosa in SP. Since 1981, she has been creating papers made from sugarcane, castor bean fiber and sisal fibers, while researching natural iron oxide pigments from the Chapada dos Guimarães-MT region. From 1991 to 1996, she achieved academic accomplishments in the field of visual arts, under the guidance of renowned teachers and established artists including Anna Bella Geiger, Reinaldo Roels, Jose Maria Dias da Cruz, Katie Schepenberg, Viviane Matesco,and Fernando Cochiarele. She has also traveled to New York for art studies with Suzana Queiroga in 1994 and Paris with João Magalhães and Janete Prioli in 1996.
