Coloring canvases with humor and color is the proposal of artist Du Fernandes. Paulistano based in Florianópolis since 1999 was revealed in a curious way in the middle artistic. Self-taught artist was discovered by Diplomat Paulo Campos, Consul General at the time of Brazil in London and head of ceremonial at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which organized the 19th Mercosur Common Market Council Meeting. His work “Viagens”, was chosen to decorate the main hall of the event, which had also with paintings by renowned artists from Santa Catarina such as Janga, Tolentino, Flavia Fernandes, Rubens Oestroem and Lena Costa. After the premiere in the main hall, the artist began to sell his works throughout Brazil and outside. His first individual, Mar de Cores, was in 2002, in Florianópolis. The 15 canvases in the exhibition portrayed the richness of the underwater fauna and flora of the Islands of Arvoredo and das Aranhas (North of the island of SC), region that Du Fernandes knew with details when on diving excursions. In his second exhibition, Mar de Flores, Flores do Mar, the artist mixed 16 new works, the beauty and joy of flowers and the sea with vibrant colors, strong lines and immersive creativity.
